Adult Learning Disability Testing

Understanding your learning profile as an adult is essential for unlocking your full potential in various aspects of life, from education and career to everyday tasks and personal growth. At  Zephyr Care, we specialize in providing comprehensive learning disability testing for adults to identify potential barriers to learning and develop personalized strategies for support. Whether you're experiencing challenges in the workplace, pursuing higher education, or seeking to understand longstanding difficulties with reading, writing, or math, our team of experienced professionals is here to help.

Why Seek Learning Disability Testing as an Adult?

As an adult, you may have experienced lifelong difficulties with certain tasks or activities that impact your academic, professional, or personal life. If you've struggled with reading comprehension, written expression, math skills, organization, time management, or memory, learning disability testing can provide valuable insights into your unique learning profile and the underlying factors contributing to your difficulties.

By undergoing learning disability testing, you can:

Identify Areas of Difficulty: Testing can pinpoint specific areas of learning and cognitive functioning where you may be experiencing challenges, such as reading fluency, comprehension, written expression, math skills, attention, memory, or executive functioning.

Clarify Diagnosis and Needs: A comprehensive evaluation can lead to a clear diagnosis of a learning disability or other related conditions, such as dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, or executive function disorder. Understanding your diagnosis can guide you in seeking appropriate accommodations, interventions, and support services to address your needs.

Develop Personalized Strategies: With a better understanding of your learning strengths and weaknesses, you can develop personalized strategies, tools, and accommodations to support your academic, professional, and personal success. Whether it's utilizing assistive technology, implementing organizational strategies, or accessing specialized support services, you can empower yourself to overcome challenges and reach your goals.

The Process of Learning Disability Testing for Adults

The process of learning disability testing for adults involves several steps:

Initial Consultation

You'll meet with a clinician for an initial consultation to discuss your concerns, your educational and professional history, and any previous evaluations or interventions you may have undergone.

Comprehensive Assessment

The assessment may include a combination of standardized tests, interviews, observations, and questionnaires to gather information about your cognitive abilities, academic skills, attention, memory, executive functioning, and emotional well-being. Testing for ADHD is always included in our learning disabilities evaluation. If you have questions about autism, we are happy to add this testing on as well.

Comprehensive Report

We will analyze the assessment results to identify any areas of weakness, patterns of strengths and challenges, and potential underlying factors contributing to your learning difficulties. You will receive a comprehensive report with your results. You'll receive detailed feedback on the assessment findings, including a clear diagnosis (if applicable), recommendations for interventions and support services, and strategies for advocating for your needs in academic, professional, and personal settings.

Feedback Session

You will have the option of scheduling a feedback session with the clinician to discuss the findings and recommendations of the evaluation.
